This post is curtesy of Quads.ca

As Treds mentioned in his "new quad" thread, we did some work on his quad today.

The first order of business was figuring out how to mount the RotoPax mounts for his flat-pack jerry cans. With an Outlander, there's a plastic "hood" that covers fuses and provides access to fluids. With my Outlander and the Kolpin flat packs and mounts, the mounts would interfere with the hood, so Roughcountry and I made an aluminum plate that spanned the rack, and had a cutout for me to access the under-hood stuff. I just don't use the plastic "trunk", and you can't see the hole when the jerry can is mounted.

However, the RotoPax jerry cans have the mounting holes further apart, so we were able to attach the mounts straight to the Outlander rack by drilling two holes on each side. The placement is extremely critical; too far forward and you'll run into the rack mount gusset. Too far back and the bolt head will be flush with the rack edge and you won't be able to turn it. The sweet spot is when the flat pack is positioned about .25" off the raised bar at the back of the rack, but if you're planning on doing this, definitely check clearances. Basically, unless you're in that exact spot, you will not be able to tighten the bolts. We removed the front rack, which made the installation considerably easier, and allowed us to see where the bolt heads would end up.

Treds has the stacker mounts which allow him to mount two flat packs, as well as the locking knob for when he leaves his quad unattended.

RotopaX Fuel Packs in Canada

Some guys have a “that will do” mentality; they don’t really care too much about quality."As long as it works" is their mantra. There are others who hate to buy a product and have it break or wear out within the first season of using it, and it is for this second group of customers that RotopaX was designed.

Rotopax are made differently than any other fuel pack on the market. Instead of being blow molded like the Kolpin product, for example, they are rotationally molded - thus the name "Roto"pax. What does rotationally molded mean? It means the packs are placed in a mold and with heat it is spun a number of times to ensure the plastic coats everywhere and there are no weak spots.

So what does this mean for you? For one, it is crushproof. More likely than not, the pack is not going to crack if you go for a tumble. You can also stack things on top of it. It is puncture proof so if some foreign object comes at you, you will not end up with gas running down your machine or down your back. Unless there has been a manufacture’s defect this pack will not leak! It is a no hassel flat pack.

The hardware is not plastic. It is made of 12 gauge steel and aluminum. You have to feel the weight of these to know what I am talking about. This isn’t something that will snap if you turn the handle the wrong way. It was made to last - a long time.

The other thing that sets this fuel pack apart is its versatility. If you don’t need 4 gallons of gas but want 2 and some water, then you can connect a 2 gallon gas with a 2 gallon water. Or let’s say you want a little storage, something smaller than a cargo box – connect a 2 gallon storage with a 2 gallon gas. And for those who need it and want the security they can buy a 4 gallon gas. We also carry diesel, kerosene and emergency kit packs.

Then there is the unique color coating of all of our packs. Universally, red means gas, yellow diesel, white is water, blue keresene and orange indicates it is an emergency kit. By the way, the color doesn't fade so it'll look good for a long time to come.

Quality and versatility - that is what you are going to get when you put a RotopaX product on your machine.

It is up to you what you do. Mount it on the front rack, mount it on the back, stack a 4 gallon with a water and a storage, attach it to your cargo box. It is up to you.

Take a look at our RotopaX online and be assured you are buying something that will last.

The Embarrass River ATV Park is home to some of the most scenic trails in the state of Wisconsin. Well marked trails wind through 500 wooded acres and along the beautiful Embarrass River. Polaris, ITP, Parts Unlimited and other industry giants already utilize the location for magazine photo shoots thanks to the unbeatable scenery. The park is littered with riverside campsites and a full RV lot with electrical hook-ups.

Amenities include ATV washes, indoor restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, a volleyball court and horseshoe pits, both primitive and full hook-up campsites, an RV dump station and riverside camping.
Motocross, TT and Cross Country events will satisfy the pallets of the hardcore racers as well as wet the pallets of the "curious, but not sure" group in attendance. Three new "utility" classes have been added to all disciplines to provide some hardcore racing without the pressure or fierce competition.

An ATV event just wouldn't fulfill its name if it didn't include a little mud bogging, and your sure to see plenty of that over the course of the weekend.

Mark your calendar for July 18-19, make your camping reservation and set your GPS for Tigerton, WI.
To complete the third year of the company’s T.R.A.I.L.S. grant program, Polaris Industries announced the granting of $46,500 to five organizations in five states. In more than three years, the Polaris T.R.A.I.L.S. Grant Program has granted $746,557 in funds to local, state and National ATV Clubs. To date, Polaris has assisted 83 organizations in 42 states across the U.S.
